Meet the Scholars

Where are they now: Dell Scholars Program alumna Vi

Although college enrollment rates have increased substantially over the last several decades, socioeconomic inequalities in college completion have widened over time. The Dell Scholars Program was developed to close those gaps by providing a combination of financial support and individualized advising to Dell Scholars before and throughout their college enrollment.

The Dell Scholars Program has now supported over 3,800 dedicated students on their road to achieving a bachelor’s degree.  Our success – 75 percent of our scholars obtain a degree within six years – is primarily attributable to the students’ hard work, perseverance, and ability to overcome the substantial obstacles that often derail low socio-economic, first-generation college goers.

We sat down with Vi, an alumna of the Dell Scholars Program to talk about her experience with the Dell Scholars Program through college and beyond.
